the license number will be different from what is on this computer.
will it work?
is this better than what is on the laptop?

yes I did followed by options settings automatic in internet explorer

NOTE Click on the Set info button at the top left corner I would if it was there!!! it is not

[1] You can use that disk as it is the same bit type that you are currently using.
[2] You will not need that license number. You already have a Product Key for the version of Windows [Home Premium]. This is the ONLY version that you will be able to activate.
[3] You can use that disk to either run a Repair Install or a Clean Install.
[4] I don't understand the question!

You will not need that license number because you already have a Product Key that is already licensed to you for your version of Windows [Home Premium]. This is the ONLY version that you will be able to activate.

Laptop! Your specs say PC/Desktop!

If the disk was the disk you used to install Win 7 Home Premium, then Yes, otherwise No.

Did you originally have a repair partition [reset to factory]?

laptop came with windows 7. but cannot do a repair except back to factory spec.
hoped the other disk would let me do that repair thingy

This is why it is important to have your system specs upto date!

OK. We don't seem to be getting anywhere fast here.

[1] If the Satellite L675 019 laptop has Win 7 64-bit Home Premium installed, then you can use that Win 7 64-bit installation disk to perform the Repair Install.

[2] You will need the Product Key for the Win 7 64-bit Home Premium installed on the Satellite L675 019 laptop. This is the ONLY version that you will be able to activate. On a laptop, it will either be on a sticker on the bottom, or in the battery compartment. If the sticker is too worn to read, or there isn't one, then you can retrieve it by either using Belarc Advisor or Magic Jelly Bean. Write this Product Key down and keep it in a safe place.

The quote below is from the file you sent me!

Two options exist for installing Windows 7:

Upgrade:
If your current version of Windows can be upgraded, choose Upgrade tokeep your files, settings, and programs. (If your version of Windows can’t beupgraded, you'll need to choose Custom, which installs a new version ofWindows.)

Custom:
Choose Custom to install Windows on the partition you select. Thisdeletes your programs and settings on that partition. You should back up anyfiles and settings you want to keep so you can restore them after theinstallation. You must reinstall your programs when the installation is done.

Do you want to go ahead and perform a Repair Install. If you do, I will post the instructions!

NO, you don't, only if you clean install or reset to factory!

You will need your Product Key for the version of Windows that you are re-installing. This is the ONLY version that you will be able to activate. NOTE the win 7 disk has no connection with the toshiba laptop. just a disk i happened to find.

3] It downloads the latest WU DB from the M$ servers, scans your OS, and then lists the updates available.
[4] It doesn’t install superseded updates like M$ does.
[5] It gives you the option of what you want to install.

it is some of the windows downloads that are causing the problem. only want to install updates up to say nov 2018.
