"This PC has unsupported hardware" error message

awesome man you just got my windows update working again! I've had the same problem as you. Not sure why it isn't working for you, but here's the right steps to take:

1) Download and extract this zip file into a folder
https://github.com/zeffy/kb4012218-19/releases/download/v0.5rc1/aio-wuaueng.dll-patch.zip

2) Within the extracted folder click on this file
aio-wuaueng.dll-patch.bat

3) Answer Yes a bunch of times, then reboot, then run windows update

4) Wait a few minutes for windows update to find updates, then install them

Intel® Pentium® Processor B940 is a 2011 Sandy Bridge. Intel Processor B940 (2M Cache, 2.00 GHz) Product Specifications
Win 7 is totally compatible with Sandy Bridge CPU's and chipsets. There is no reason to receive that message.
M$ is installing a lot of buggy updates.
I'm manually installing Security ONLY updates
