Well today I was missing quite a lot of it, it was my youngest birthday so apart from going over there to take her presents I had to look after the youngest grandson while she took the other one to speech therapy.

I also bought myself Tetris Party Deluxe for my Nintendo DSi XL and I also got myself a web cam. It was in Sainsbury's and on sale it's a Logitech Webcam C120, I got it for £8.
Mind you don't even know if any of my friends have one so I can use it

Well ... at least that means no 'cabin fever' for you! Here it is 15F and expecting more snow tonight. Maybe some weather relief by this weekend!

Thanks Robert I will, it's got something called Logitech Vid and you have to set up an account and do a test when you install it apparently. Haven't done anything with it yet as I've not been home enough today and it wont be long before I shut down for the night.

I have used mine with Windows Live Messenger. As I already had a Messenger account, there was no additional requirement there. I did have to install the web cam driver, but Messenger is set up to configure video and sound easily. Any time is OK with me.

Where I live in Cornwall we are noted for our slow careful approach to life. We invented words like "I'll do that dreckly" Which means "I'll do that maybe tomorrow or the next day, if it's a nice day" We also have a lovely saying "Go along quietly" and "Take it step be step"
Follow the Cornish way and you will succeed. It's never easy and you need to be aware all the time. Don't falter, struggle on, it gets better as time passes. Be proud of your achievement so far.

Thanks geeks! It's incredible fun to be able to drive again. Took a short test drive already, just about 35 kilometers up the Autobahn direction Berlin, filled the tank in a service area and drove back. Was really careful, didn't exceed 170 km/h although I wanted to (this A9 Autobahn has mostly no speed limit).

I promised to Angie I'm taking it easy, first speed tests during a visit to Berlin this coming weekend. Even then it's not going to be too fast driving; we have still winter tyres in cars and it's not allowed to drive over 210 km/h with them, as the obligatory sticker reminds me:

Here's still quite a lot Autobahn without speed limits, you can drive as fast as your car is capable to go. For instance the Berlin Ring (Berliner Ring) A10, the ring road around Berlin is 170 kilometers (105 miles) from our house door; to that distance we normally need 55 to 60 minutes.

The problem now, still a few weeks, is the law that says you have to use winter tyres. The law itself says nothing about exceeding 210 km/h with winter tyres but if something happens and it can be proven you drove faster, no insurance is compensating the damage. So, it's more safe and simple to keep the speed during winter time under the 210 km/h.

But, believe me: it's a really fabulous feeling to accelerate to over 200 km/h, press the cruise control and enjoy!
