Is it any fun with just a keyboard and mouse?

I don't have a joystick!

I wouldn't have thought so. I use the 360 controller.
It is much easier with a controller. :)

Yeah, it kinda sucks with the keyboard and mouse. It's playable, but completely takes you out of any gaming experience you might have otherwise had.

any racing, fighting or flying game cannot really be enjoyed on the mouse & keyboard due to the lac of ''analogue sticks & pressure buttons'' which are required for turning, accelerating & breaking (amongst others)...

whereas 1st person & 3rd person shooters are in their element with the mouse & keyboard..... aiming with a mouse delivers far greater response & precision.

i gotta get myself a 360 controller at some point though.....:p

Yeah, I usually play those on a console, but after my 360 did a 3rd in a row RROD, I bought a ps3, it was nice, and boring... So traded it for a Wii, now the whole family enjoys it.

I suppose I'll just get mario kart...

I hate now how alot of newer pc games are built on the 360 button config now (or it seems, ie; nba2k9)

I use the logitech cordless rumblepad II... works great and can take a beating, just cant take my brother's coke being spilled on it:rolleyes:... battery life runs phenomenal.... but i'm also playstation biased as well

I really liked the PS contoller until I tried the 360... much more natural.

Even after going back to PS3 the sticks are in an awkward position, and I don't have large hands so its not that!

Either way, both work, but considering its windows, I'm just glad the 360 would work nice... might pick one up.

Have both the logitech and the 360 for the pc, and I give them a 50 50, kinda perfer the logitech from all my PS days..

Agree that driving is much better with the handheld than kb/mouse, as for flying have to have my Logitech Cordless Freedom 2.4, love that joystick.

The game, for me, works great without the directx 10. I'm on x86 build 7068 with an AGP HIS HD3850 Ice-Q Turbo which is definitely capable of directx 10. When I try to play in 10 mode, it only gives me a black screen but the program is running file and I hear the audio. Anyone know what I can do? I'm also on the latest hotfix driver 9.3 from ATI. Thx.

Do you have compatibility mode on?

Oh and one other note

**********
for me the game didn't run in DX9 mode, only DX10

If you get a black screen make sure your making it run in DX10

I'm having that same problem. I get the audio but I only get a black screen.
I've tried almost everything. Trust me, I mean it.

Point is, I'm running the latest Win7 RC 7.100. Formatted last night, but I read about a lot of ppl running it without a problem. So I guess it's not a video driver compatibility conflict or a divx10 problem. That's what confuses me.

At first I could run it on win xp sp3 with divx 9.c without a problem, it was a cracked game I downloaded to try it out. I formatted, tried the same game on W7 but I had this problem. I thought it was a problem with the cracked game. So I went out and spent some money, got the original one. But the problem was still there. I re downloaded the latest nvidia drivers, re downloaded divx10 and reinstalled both. Still had the same problem. Tried compatibility with previous versions of windows, but it didn't work either.

I have a nvidia 7300, 2 gb ram, Intel Core 2 Duo 4300.

If anybody has any advice about W7 and compatibility that could help me out, I'd really apreciate it.
