I have 815 empty folders under C:\Users\Clint\AppData\Local\. They are like
{000A28889-3B90-4BDD-A79F-8A38C7ECBDB2F} and so on. Is it safe to delete them?

Thanks Clint

Try googling a few and see what they are/is said about them. If they are indeed truly empty........ make a back-up or a system restore point and then delete them.

Those are created by Windows Live programs(probably Live Mail). Deleting them shouldn't cause any harm as long as they're empty, those are temporary folders that are usually deleted automatically.

The latest update of Windows Live Essentials has fixed that issue. Those folders will no longer appear.

I have the latest ver. Would that have deleted the older ones?

see if they are being created when you start some other program (open a program you use, and check if new folders are created there, then close and open another program).

Was discarded by previous owner due to "horrible performance".
Was running Win Xp from a IDE drive. Yeah. Was a pain.

No. I have ver. 2011 Build 15.4.3555.0308 I just downloaded that in May.

I thought that was the latest ver. I went to the web site and downloaded it again. They don't tell you which ver. it is. I haven't installed it yet to see which ver. it is. Do you have to uninstall the old ver. first?

Thanks Clint

The latest update of Windows Live Essentials has fixed that issue. Those folders will no longer appear.

Thanks pbcopter, I think it's fixed now. I installed the latest update and deleted the folders again. It's been around a week now and none have come back. Thanks again. I wonder why that don't come in Windows update? Looks like at the web site they would tell you which ver. is available, instead of guessing which one it is. Thanks to all that answered.

Clint
