You want to clone the Disk? You said earlier you didn't want the E partition.

I am not sure mr has a clone function in the free version.

It does. Also, you can choose which partitions to clone; you don't have to clone the entire disk.

I don't think you will run into any problems using Macrium Reflect, it has an extremely good track record.

Guys, Gals, are we accidentally confusing cloning with imaging? I thought cloning was an all or nothing project, either a source HD is cloned to a target HD or it is not. I thought only imaging would take care of partition "copying" from source HD to target HD. Somebody get me up to speed, I think I'm behind the times somewhat.

Forgot to ask, do I format the SSD before the Clone? The drive had a few other Operating Systems on it.

I think I'm having some issues, but got it done.

My first attempt failed do to the C Partition being to large, but the SYSTEM Partition Cloned. I should have started over, but thought I would save some time and just Clone the C Drive at that point. I did, and it worked, but on first boot Windows asked for me to insert a Installation Disk and do a Repair. So I did, and allowed the repair. Then it restarted and all works fine except for one thing, it boots kinda slow. I am getting a 49sec boot time, does that seem right to you guys? That is to a fully working loaded desktop, all icons populated in the Task Bar etc.

It does feel like websites load a little faster and other things seem to run fast enough if not a little faster than the HDD. I think boot times should be better, so if some of you can give me an idea of boot times I should be seeing that would be nice. I will boot my other SSD Equipped laptops to compare, but it seems like they boot faster. Of course one is Windows 8.1 and the other is Windows 10, and they may just boot faster with an ssd, I don't know.

Thanks guys, that was a good thing for me to get done. I will leave it like this for a while and make sure it's not worth fixing if indeed there is anything wrong. The important thing is everything is activated and I still have my important programs to use without the hassle pf contacting MS or MiniTool for activation.

This laptop needs a good cleaning also, to make it run cooler, but now it seems to be running a little cooler due to the SSD I would imagine.

P.S. I have not installed the Samsung Magician yet, hopefully that will get me a little faster startup.

Hey guys, I hope someone will help me with getting this thing tuned a little. I have looked into the Samsung Magician to make some performance changes. One thing I notice is that there is no AHCI Mode in the BIOS, is this something that some laptops don't have?

I should say, that the Samsung Software leaves much to be desired! Hope it works better than it is Intuitive.

I should have pointed out the computer that I'm doing all this on. I also posted this on the first page in case someone needs to find it easily.
