Tricky cloning question to SSD drive -

I have a 1TB Seagate that came new with a Sony Desktop (32MB cache unfortunately). I created a D partition but now we have 5 partitions on the drive. I want to install my Samsung 830 256MB SSD.
I have two partitions I need, the Windows partition and I guess I can keep the SONY partition. I can’t figure out the others on there and to boot the drive is GPT.
Question – I tried several different brands of cloning software to no avail. Any thoughts or help appreciated. Ghost was a disaster…
Is there any way I can specify which partitions I want and make it bootable and not clone the others ? What software to use ?

Thanks. This may do it. I got the C drive and the efi partition using this and I used EASE US to resize and create a D drive partition. Only, this software forced me to use other drive letters than C and D. Any thgouht / ideas on how to change them on their own when another drive is hooked up ? Samsung told me Windows would see the OS on what will eventually be the C partition and rename it ? ? ?

just copy the two large partitions (now called C and D) to SSD.
Drive letters is just a logical letter. Can differ any time you start another OS.

I wouldn't recommend it, except that it sounds as though there is diverse hardware involved. TI 2012 Plus Pack is suppose to permit recovering to different hardware via their Universal Restore. I have not had the opportunity to test this very thoroughly, so take my recommendation as a guess. TI 2012 works well, except that it causes an abnormal shutdown message, regarding an operation in progress, that halts rebooting, and requires a forced reboot but only on the day of a scheduled image creation. I'm going to try installing TI 2010 also, because it didn't have this problem, but it doesn't have Universal Restore, but can recover from an image made with TI 2012 PP.

make both partitions on SSD primay as well. and mark the new C as active.
disconnect old HDD and reboot. eventually perform startup repair. All working?

Once the SSD boots I cna alter the drive letters to C and D. However now, I have S & T (arbitrary).

Can I presume windows will do a startup repair ? Using the systen repair disk ? Sorry but I'm a little fuzzy with GPT drives. I've got the data in the right spots and the EFI partition...

I'd be real happy to load softeware and have it automated but it appears with 5 drives on the current HDD in GPT PLUS a Sony partition it aint gonna work.

Is DISK1 the SSD? If so post screenshot of easus partition manager so I can see all disks and partitions. Is disk1 a mbr disk or or gpt disk?

If already a mbr disk:

• remove the 200MB partition on SSD
• add the space (which is now unallocated) eventually to S
• mark S active.

Don't bother about now. They are just defined in registry. It's easy to fix.

Not totally automatic because you copied registry as well. Can fix that later.

What is disk0 with 5 partitions?

First convert the SSD to MBR instead of GPT!!
Convert GPT disk to MBR disk with free partition manager, Windows Disk Management and Diskpart command.

You have to delete the partitions on SSD first. Of SSD disk is type MBR: clone the 2 partitions only. Make them both primary. Is S new win7 on SSD and the other partition just data? If so mark S active

Don't do 3 Clone HDD!! Copy partition instead. Don't copy EFI partitions. Only the 2 partitions I told you
