Trouble Forwarding Ports

Hello Forums, I Seem to be having trouble forwarding my ports, My router model is a D-Link DIR-615. (If needed by PC Specs are down below) When i go into my router and i forward the ports, the forwarding doesn't work, Here is what i know

-Computer IP Is the correct IP that the port is being forwarded too
-Windows Firewall is Off
-Restarting the Router/Computer Multiple Times
-The router says the ports are forwarded
-I have forwarded the ports to a laptop of mine and that seemed to work
-I tested the ports on this site Open Port Check Tool - Test Port Forwarding on Your Router
-That site told me that the forwarding to my laptop worked, but not to my desktop

Could anyone help me?

When you forward a port lets say port number 22 for an ssh connection you have to specify an ip address lets say 192.168.2.1. Now if you use your external ip address with port 22 it will look for 192.168.2.1 listening for a connection. If you're on 192.168.2.5 the port will not be forwarded to the computer. It will only go to 192.168.2.1.

I hope that make since it sounds like you did it right for your laptops ip addresss

What port(s) are you trying to open. Do you have a program listening for a connection?

Does the target computer have a fixed local IP? It needs to be static for port forwarding to work with the correct computer.
Also, you can try doing a telnet to your public IP on the targeted port to test if anything respond to the connection. If the laptop is still answering it, most likely you have mixed the IPs of the computers, or if nothing does, maybe an antivirus/firewall is blocking it.

Ports 8123, and 25565 (for the game minecraft) And yes i do got a program listening

The IP Is static, and i quadruple checked the IP's. The Windows Firewall is completely disabled, same with my antivirus,

Are you trying to forward the same ports on the laptop and the desktop?

Also are what A/V are you using?

The ports are different, the ports on the laptop are just 200, and the ones for the desktop are on a previous post, and my AV is microsoft security essentials

On the desktop type open a command prompt and type "netstat -a" no quotes post the output or just look for the port you opened with listening on under state.

I already tried that method, and still no luck, I will go take a screenshot of the port forwarding page with my configurations on it and post it on here to see if that will offer any help, also thanks guys for the help,

Hi so the ports you forward on the laptop are working i.e port 200?

Now port 25665 for minecraft and port 8123 are not forwarding is that correct?

yes, i even tried other ports and they will not forward to my desktop

Please provide us a ipconfig /all from the desktop please for review.

Also please provide a screenshot of the ports forwarded on the router as requested please.

Hi Jemjem787 from the ipconfig /all i see DHCP is enabled can you confirm that you have used DHCP reservation on the Dlink DIR-615 to reserve 192.168.1.194 ip address to the Physical address(Mac address) of your wireless adapter making it a fixed address assigned everytime to the desktop wireless adapter?

In your portforwarding please do seperate portforwarding rules to port 25565 one for TCP and one for UDP and allow all on inbound filter for the minecraft server and port 8123 i assume is a game please do seperate rule/s for this also on TCP and UDP. Forward to the fixed ip you have assigned.

Power cycle all devices after portforward and leave powered down for 2 minutes.

Power on modem wait for lights to stabilise.

Power on Dlink DIR-615 wait for lights to stabilise.

Power on Desktop and wait until fully booted after login.

Please let us know how it goes please use the port checker tool to check that the ports have been forwarded.

Sorry i havent posted in a while, i have been busy

I have tried all of the above, and what you have said in previous posts, i am now just going to blame it on a faulty rouder, i have a spare one i could try, and if that works it will prove that it is the rouder
