trying to create the live Peppermint5 CD

Downloaded Rufus usb creator to create the peppermint 5 CD creator but when I open Rufus, I cant type anything in. I just get a blank line. What am I doing wrong?

What have you to type? You don't type anything.

Backup all data on your pen drive first.

Plug out (safely remove) the pen drive.

Then plugin your pen drive. ( Do not perform any operation on it that will lock the pen drive and deny access to Rufus)

Start Rufus.

Check your pen drive is shown in Rufus.

In "Create a bootable disk using" select ISO Image with the dropdown arrow, then select the Peppermint ISO after clicking the drive icon next to it, check that shows at the bottom, and click on Start.

Close Rufus when it completes writing.

I have done it just now to confirm that the latest version of Rufus takes that ISO. ( Rufus does not take some ISOs not conforming to standards)

Everything went fine.
