Solved Error 0x80042308 when trying to create restore point

Hi,


I have a Lenovo i5 laptop with W7 64 bits. When I try to create a restore point I either get the error above or I get a success message. But in both cases no restore point is created when I check with Windows.


I did a lot of searches and already tried this to no avail:
- System restore off/on
- Volume Shadow Copy service off/on
- chkdsk /f
- sfc /scannow


Can you help me? Thank you!

Update: I fixed the problem by checking the page file for fragmentation, ie Fix #5 here: No System Restore points: Fix for Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10
