So I have a pretty old monitor (6 years LCD with DVI-A port) which works perfectly on my old PC.I thought I can connect it to my new computer ( gtx 760 ) but I already have an LG 20M35 hooked in the DVI-D port.So I bought a HDMI adaptor.

The problem comes here: I tried to install the second monitor and it just stays black.I messed up with the resolutions, the refresh rate, rebooted my PC and still nothing.I know it's working because it shows up in my Nvidia control panel and also in my windows proprieties ( Says Device is working properly ).Both monitors are installed to the 760 graphics card.So what am I missing here?

What adapter did you use to convert it to hdmi, that monitor is analog and the 760 is outputting only digital so unless your adapter is active and not passive it will not work. The 760 thinks there is a monitor there only because it sees your analog monitor looking for a signal those are probably the only pins it sees imo. Can you list the model of the adapter you used?

The adaptor came with the new monitor ( LG 20M35 ).Since the monitor's cable is DVI-D I am assuming the adaptor is DVI-D to HDMI.

Correct you need a adapter that changes signal types that adapter is only changing digital to digital. The 760 only has digital circuitry.

Do you still have one dvi-d port open on your 760, or is it just the hdmi? That determines what adapter to get.
