Trying to use Games Explorer in Windows 7

So, I like the idea of having accessible "Games" from right side of the start menu, but this feature is dead and useless now. Its a hassle to add some games to it and even if you add them, they usualy didnt work anyway. I tried it with some steam games, but it didnt launch the game and gave me error.



I figured, maybe there is a way, to change default location of this Games folder, so I could just use some normal folder for my games. I know I can do this, and put this folder into start menu and problem solved, but I still would like to have this folder accessible from right side of the start menu labeled as Games, without too many tweaks so... is this possible? Can I for example... edit some registry and just change default location of this "Games" folder to my custom folder?


And for the clarification, Im NOT talking about the folder inside the start menu under All Programs.

If I understand you correctly, do you mean something like this.

You could display your personal folder as a menu on the right side of the Start menu, then add your custom folders/files to your personal folder. To do this, right-click the Start button, click Properties, click the Start Menu tab, click Customize, scoll down the Personal folder, click Display as a menu. Now you can add your custom folders/files to your Personal folder and they will be displayed as a sub-menu on the Start menu.

You could also do this for your Documents folder!
