Turn off Display?

In my power mode setting window, I set "Sleep" to Never. However, I do not know what to do with "the Display frame. It seems to be somehow involved with Sleep but the examples I see at Geek have them different. If I want Sleep at Never, do I also want display at Never?

Depends on what you are trying to accomplish?

I use a screen saver and have sleep set to never but I have my display turn off after 20 minutes. I figure if I haven't done anything in 20 minutes it's unlikely I will soon so turning off the display is a good thing to do. All I have to do is move the mouse to turn it on again.

Then please explain to me what the "display" is. I am guessing that it means to black out what is on the screen but not put the computer to sleep. Am I right?

If that is right, I'd best explain what I am doing. My antivirus program takes some hours to do it's job. If the computer goes to sleep, its program is open but it is not running - so I'm told. Therefore, unless I stay right on top of it and catch it every time it goes to sleep (once an hour), it take double time to finish.

OK. Since my computer is not on constantly anyway - I shut down early - I don't really need that sleep mode. So do I need the display mode?

What you need is up to you.

My computer are never set to sleep or hibernate.
My screens stay on as long as the computer is on.

My computers are not on if I'm not there.
Everything is set to Never.

Everything is all on or all off.
I see no reason to have anything on in any state if I'm not using them.

Now that suites my needs. You will have to find what suites your needs and desires.

Display is your monitor, set it to go off after 10 minutes.

There`s no real reason to have your pc running if you are not using it, set sleep to 30 minutes

The display is the monitor - it's the physical device where you can see your Windows "session".
Turning off the display has nothing to do with Sleep.
The Monitor (Display) can be turned off and all running programs will continue to run.

If you Turn Off or Sleep the PC, yes the monitor will (should) turn off as there is nothing to display.
