Dear Friends,
My operation system is Windows 7 Ultimate. When turning on computer, login screen comes. Sometimes at this point I want to exit cancelling the login. I don’t want to lose the already loaded programs. So, I want to exit by standby mode. In the past at the bottom right of the screen there used to appear a buton which used to provide turning-off options whwn right clicked. I can’t see it. How can it be enabled?

Hello iko,
Thank you very much for the answer. Yes, I mean “Logon Shutdown Options” buton. This buton appear when I shutdown the computer. But it doesn’t appear when I log on after I exit by standby mode.

Please see Option 3 in the web link I provided in Post #2.

If the shutdown button is missing from the log on screen, open regedit.exe, and navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System. Then make sure the ShutdownWithoutLogon value is set to 1.

I have applied all three options. It is set to 1. It appears when I shutdown and log on again but it doesn't appear when I exit by standby mode and log on.

No idea, try changing the ShutdownWithoutLogon value set to 0, re-boot the computer, then changing the ShutdownWithoutLogon value set to 1. Resume from sleep again, and check the button.

It seems I have solved this problem. It is not necessary to go to Registry. In "Power options" there are three actions which can be customized: 1. when the power button pressed 2. when hibernation button pressed 3. when laptop cover closed. For each action above there are options in the dropdown menu. We can choose anyone.
