Hi everyone,
Now that I've solved my shutdown problem on the 'Drivers' forums, I have come here to see if anyone could help me out with another really annoying problem I have.

When I try to access Device Manager I get an error message pop up telling me 'Class not registered', in a window titled 'Microsoft Management Console'.

This is on Windows 7 RC1. I have googled around for this problem but there were no real solutions. I'm sure someone here can help me out, I have faith!

Thanks,
Rory.

Hm...very peculiar...have you tried using System restore to go back before the date of this problem's occurence or a repair install?

In what seems like a stupid move in retrospect, I have system restore disabled.

This problem appears to affect other system tools, or microsoft management console tools, such as the Services manager thing (services.msc)

Then go ahead and do a repair install...some crtitical compnonents have been damaged...that would be the best way to fix it
