Unable To Boot Disk For Windows 7 RC! - PLEASE HELP!

Okay, It's real easy. Just download ImgBurn from MajorGeeks :geek:

|MG| ImgBurn 2.4.4.0 Download

Do not extract files, Burn the .iso directly to DVD with ImgBurn. It will have the necessary boot files on the DVD in the proper place.

Insert new burned DVD in DVD drive on computer that you want to install to.

ReStart computer, select boot from CD/DVD drive or hit F8 key to get a select boot drive menu. WaLaah ! Simple :geek:

LOL. :D thanks.

I got it. It's a lot easier to download ImgBurn and make a DVD from there. I'm installing Windows7 right now so hopefully everything goes well. I'm upgrading from Vista Ultimate 34-Bit to Windows 7 64-Bit, so hopefully I won't have any problems. I'm doing a clean install BTW. Thanks.

Got it fixed. Burned with Nero Image burn. ISO to the DVD and then did a boot. Clean install was smooth.

Try this trick

Use a program like IMGBurn and burn to DVD at the lowest speed to ensure a high-quality burn.

My friend's computer had the same issue, although the 7100 disk worked fine in my laptop. The solution was to run the setup.exe off of the DVD inside Vista, and select to install Windows 7 on top of the Vista partition. It says that the current hard drive configuration will be named to Windows.old, which means that all the files from your Vista install will be intact inside a folder called Windows.old on the root of C:\

Go ahead and try that, since it doesn't need to boot of the drive to install it this way.http://www.sevenforums.com/images/smilies/wink.gif
