Unable to install Win7 on my new PC

I just brought a new PC of following specifications

1. AMD Phenom X4 (9650) - Quad Core
2. ASUS M3A78-EM Motherboard
3. 500 GB SATA HDD
4. 2 GB DDR2 RAM

The problem is after the loading screen after I click enter to boot from DVD
I get a screen where a wallpaper comes ... and after that no setup thing starts

I am very annoyed with this ... also tell me which one will be best for me x86 or x64

i don't know why, but sometimes it takes a long time for the next part of setup (the eula, iirc) to appear.

when i installed 7 recently on my old kitchen pc, it took a good five minutes to appear (admittedly much lower spec hardware than yourself).

so, try it again, and be patient. it might just work.

I had the exact same problem on my son's Asus machine. Clearing the cmos fixed it first time I tried. It's also worked on a few other machines so far. Just remember to re-enable SATA drives and system settings in bios after you clear the cmos.
