Hi Forum Members I need some help please. Trying to leave the home group Windows says unable to do so. I have read many internet answers to this problem but none of them work. I have disabled Home network provider, home Group listener, home group provider, Peer to Peer networking all to no avail. It seems my Computer is part of a home Network. Why I don't know. Services.msc says home group is disabled. How do I connect to the internet but not as a Home group? I only have one Computer. No Home network is required. I do have a router in the line to serve as a Hardware Firewall. Should that matter? I am directly connected by wire to the router which is connected to the ISP modem by wire.
Any help would be much appreciated. Regards Peter

Hi Brink, thank you for the reply. The fix you posted the link to was one of the first I tried. It does not/ did not work. Deleting all the files in peer networking did not help either. When I open the Network and sharing centre it says this computer belongs to a home group. That is what I would like to leave but can't do. Something in Windows is preventing me from doing so. Please believe me when I say that I have tried many internet posted fixes talking about the exact same problem without a resolution. How do I delete that home group net connection and start a new net connection but not a home group? I get confused at times by the terminology used, ie, home group versus peer networking etc.. Any other suggestions?
Regards Peter
