I had a thread a few weeks ago and forgot to update it been busy. Anyways I was told to perform

sfc /scannow - on the command prompt and I came up with errors saying windows was unable to fix some of them.

Anyways, I was given alot of commands and none of them work to perform disk check

So here is my log you can find the .txt somewhere on my post and if anyone has the time to read all of it and let me know what I can do to fix them since I am unable to understand what is on the text. Thanks

Hi omegafatman,
Here's you other post, for reference and so that we keep it together. :)

I'm wondering if your PC came stock installed with Windows 7 or and if it passes the windows 7 upgrade Advisor? Perhaps this is hardware related.

Some other approaches (in no particular order):
  • Check your event log for disk errors, this is a telltale sign that the problem is your hard drive and not software related. If there are no errors, then it's most likely to be software related and hopefully fixable.
  • Turn of Hibernation (Lets rule out that it is caused by sleepy hardware, this is actually pretty common)- START | Control Panel | Power Options | Change Plan Settings | Put the computer to sleep never.
  • Run CheckDisk from the installation media instead of during restart - Boot from your Windows 7 DVD or USB installation disk, Enter System Recovery Options and choose command prompt, type CHKDSK /X /R C: where C: is your operating System Drive (and press enter).
  • Run CheckDisk in Safemode - Enter by pressing F8 during boot. Once booted, search for CMD, then right click and open it as administrator. Type CHKDSK /X /R C: (same as above).
  • Update all of your drivers, especially your chipset driver. Do this from the manufacturers website, not from MSupdate (Microsoft does not always have the latest drivers on their update service).
  • Download a windows bootdisk and run checkdisk from that. There are many available, BartsPE is the most commonly used.
  • Check your permissions, ensure that you and system have full write permissions to the drive that you are checking.
  • Run a full virus scan
  • Repair Install - As mentioned above by everedsolo, but please check permissions before you attempt this.
  • Replace the Autochk.exe with a fresh copy from your installation media (If you can't find it - Looking at the log I think yours is a 32bit install, I've attached my autochk.exe (I have 64bit), you can always try it, it's likely to be a 32bit program anyway..... just back up your current one first ;)).

Goodluck, and please let us know how you go.

Timo
