When I save a file to my C drive, (like a Jpg for example) then go into my C drive to view it, the file isn't there.
But when I am saving another file, I can see the first file in the C drive, only in the "Save Window", not when I go to the drive itself.
Make sense?

Any help is appreciated.

Unable to see saved files

I have the same problem and it is very frustrating, it was simple to find them with vista but it is to do with libraries and no virtualisation folder in windows 7

The question is, WHERE are you saving it? "C drive" doesn't really tell us anything.

I too have this happen but on an intermittent basis.

When it does happen, here is my fix -- click the back button and then the forward button. It works everytime and you will then see what you saved.

I have just gotten around this problem (not solved because I would like to know where they are actually being saved on my machine so I can delete them), I assume you are saving the files from the internet (mine was ancestry). Save it to a USB stick. Open another file and go to save it in the area where you are saving the files but dont save it, right click on one of your files that you cannot locate and click on Send To and send it to your USB stick or external drive, you have to do each file individually. If you right click to save then it will say file not found. Once you have them on your USB copy from USB to the file you want them in. I have just done this with all my files (all 100+) but it saves having to copy them all down again. Good Luck

same problem

I've tried everything for days. My work around is irritating but if you look in the exact same folder through outlook or hotmail and try to attach the files, they are there. I send them to myself in order to open them. If you go in through the explorer the folder properties say it is empty but they are somehow there and not viewable.

A friend came to me about a month ago, he could not save docs to a newly installed Windows 7 on his laptop. I checked his Account settings and he had set himself up in a Temp/Guest account. There was no Admin account set up. I added an account making it a Admin and deleted the temp/guest account and all works just fine. Hope this helps.
