Hello Symbianas,

Sometimes just restarting the computer will remove a ghost file like this.

Hope this helps,

No, restarting doesnt help :(
I think it is more complicated then that... I noticed that files name has space at the end, I think this might be the problem, no? because I cant even create file with the space at the end... I dont know how that file got space at the end of its name.
Any other ideas?

Have you tried going to the c:\users\..\desktop folder and deleting it from there?

The mouse took most research. I hate that click on the wheel, this one has the old fashioned smooth wheel. There aren't many about.
Yes I tried it, but I get the same error. I even tried to delete from cmd, but get error "Could not find". If I try to set attribute "Hidden" I get error: "An error occured applying attributes to the file:" "The system cannot find the file specified.".

Try another step not sure whether it would work

1, Start and type cmd and right click and Run as admin
2, Then type cd\
3, Then cd Users\<User name>\Desktop
4, Then del file name with extension

See whether that works

Symbianas,

If you have the 32-bit Windows 7 installed, then using Unlocker on it may allow you to be able to delete it afterwards.

In addition to the above when you use the del command enclose the filename in quotes and include the space IE del "filename .ext"

If this does not work do the same but for the space character hold dwn the ALT key and type 255 on the numeric keypad as this is a hidden character that sometimes is used in filenames.

After you have removed the file do a full deepscan with antimalware software as this type of undeletable file is sometimes a sign of infection

I've had this happen too. It's caused by a new feature in windows 7 creates a what's called a fakepath to any user account files, which I believe is to eliminate the possibility of creating an infinite loop between files displayed on the start menu and files displayed in explorer.
