Uninstall Windows XP Mode

Hi

When I run Windows XP mode, the explorer is so slow that it doesn't run the installed programs and taking minutes to open My Computer? Can I install fresh XP mode and restore my old programs which are installed on corrupted XP.

Maybe its a good time to upgrade to W7? or 8.1?
