At times Revo cannot find a program to remove and used to use IOBIT but was cautioned against it. Is there a very good uninstaller incase Revo is not up to it?

If you are using Revo free version it will not uninstall 64-bit programs I have Revo pro on one of my machines and it will uninstall 64-bit programs, on my other machine I use Advanced Uninstaller PRO - uninstall or remove programs easily using the most powerful uninstaller in the world, for Windows Vista and XP. Free trial available. there is a free version it will work on both 32-bit and 64-bit and it works very similar to Revo.

Ditto for Advanced Uninstaller Free. I switched to it from Revo about a year ago and never regretted doing that. AUF has never failed to find what I wanted to uninstall and has never given me any problems.

Do you have a download link? The download link from Bongo's post brings me to CNet which only shows uninstaller pro. Unless maybe the trial has features that don't expire? I'm confused.

Softpedia has a link for uninstaller free, but it's dated 2010. Is there anything newer?

edit: OK. The Softpedia one is the same version number shown on home page as the latest... 10.1.1 .. never mind.

( btw.. if I don't like it what do you recommend to uninstall it? )

I would use revo to uninistall it, and that completes the merry-go-round.

Now that Revo(free) does not detect 64 bit programs I have done homework and would like an opinion, please;

I have boiled the search down to;

1-Geekuninstaller-which handles both 32 and 64 bit
2-Advanced uninstaller pro- reads the same way
3-I found this intersting article but do not know if it is advisable. I would not mind the extra work if were worth it;
Open Start>run>cmd. Enter "cd %programfiles%" and press enter. Type "dir /p" without quotes. You will see the list of all your programs now. To delete-uninstall CCleaner type rd /s "CCleaner" and press "Y". This will permanently delete this program so be sure you know this is what you want.
You can delete any program using this method just replace the name with what you want to delete. Read also how to uninstall programs using command prompt.

I would use #2 I have used it with no problems, I have never heard of #1, #3 would be too much work when #2 would do it for you.

Softpeidia is an excellent site. But I always check for a newer version at the author's site. Somtimes the bot doesn't pick up the latest revision.

I usually just use windows uninstaller. It is great and does a pretty neat job. If I know a particular program has problems leaving things behind, I then will use Revo. Java comes to mind. Have to use Ccleaner as well on that one, on top of searching for Java folders to delete.

If you use Revo Pro you will not have to hunt for folders at all. It has Forced Uninstall, with two choices; 1- type in the path, or 2- type in the name of the program.

Windows Uninstaller "Always" leaves junk behind !

Yes, AU is fine for 64 bit programs .

I have never heard of geek uninstaller before. Just had a quick look - it seems pretty good - very efficient - just does the job without any fancy extras - works for 64 bit too.

Revo seems to be the best from the reading I have done. I would use it and if I wanted to pay, would use the pro version.
Personally, I will use Revo for the programs it can handle(free) and IOBIT for those it cannot.
