uninstalling cyberlink powerdirector..

i tried to install but the installation failed, when trying to reinstall it asks me to uninstall. there is no program to uninstall under add/remove programs and i was unable to uninstall from the directory. i deleted the directory and deleted registry entries of cyberlink and tried installing again and i have the same problem. asks to uninstall first. how can i completely remove this from my before installing... any help would be appreciated, cheers

Have you tried the registry clean in CCleaner - Optimization and Cleaning - Free Download ?

You can also look in program data and appdata folders which are hidden by default.

What a coincidence I'm doing that right now. I personally enjoy using this little thing. PC Decrapifier

pc-decrapifier-2.2.5.zip

I don't know how to make it say PC Decrapifier, but that's the file for the .exe. I converted it into a Zip because I have never done that before and wanted to feel like a badass. >.>

ok i tried all three above options and it still is giving the same error. do i have any other options here..

1) Try using Revo Uninstaller.

2) You may need to run through the registry again and make sure all Powerdirector entries are deleted. Also delete any left behind folders on your hdd.

3) Also try uninstalling/ removing in safe mode.

4) Try doing a system restore to a point in time before installing/ trying installing.

Best option I can give is to do a Complete System Recovery, then use the Decrapifier.

If i were you I would follow Bill's steps. Revo Uninstaller Free edition has Hunter Mode that would search and cleanup all the left over entries.

Revo Uninstaller

Revo Uninstaller (free version) worked for me. It did take two passthrough's but it uninstalled in Windows "Safe Mode."
