Solved Unknown Device (HP 3D Driveguard) 'Removal'

hi i have another device question, concerning driveguard. i have a HP with this, however, since i have decided to swap all drives in it to SSD, i would rather not install it. but if i don't, then its -> yellow exclamation triangle in device manager.

so i guess i have 3 options :-

1. don't install it.
2. install it, and ignore it attempting to run.
3. install it, then uninstall it. i realized that by uninstalling it in win 7 via control panel, this only applies to the GUI and driveguard's general operation, but some driver must be left on my pc because no more yellow exclamation in Device Manager.

which option would you choose? i have so far chosen option 3, because i want to look at a 'clean' device manager panel; i no longer mind because i know i uninstalled it so driveguard is not running.

the only thing i am concerned with is that it had left crap somewhere on my pc which i must manually remove. if this part is true, and you know where such remnants are, could you advise me pls.

HP Driveguard is designed to protect the read/write heads on HDD from sudden movement. If all seems to working well with the option 3 you are using, then just leave it at that.

Just of a matter of interest is Driveguard shown in Programs & Features in Control Panel. If it is, you could try uninstalling it.

hp 3d driveguard from this generation do not aid ssd in any way. one day if i do i switch out one of my solid-states, and have a hybrid spindle-ssd system, i could always re-install the GUI by the swsetup file.

nevertheless thanks for your input-i am able to reach a decision now.
