Unwanted program deactivator want?

Hello!
Do you know are there any unwanted program deactivator available for download? Because of sometimes un used programs eat my ram space. so if you know that type of software please inform me!:shock:

i'm not sure exactly what you mean.

you want to stop programs from loading each time you boot windows?

if so, type msconfig into your start-menu searchbox, and untick the software that you don't want using the startup tab.

this will not uninstall the programs, but will only stop them running at boot-time.

You can use 'Startup Lite' StartUpLite: Malwarebytes
Open the ram eating program, only when you need it.

You can do the same thing with Ccleaner, most Utilities software (TuneUp Utilities) and my personal favorite Spybot S&D.

I use CCleaner for this, mainly because it is part of my base install. However, msconfig will do the same.

I use Windows Installer Clean Up, for those hard to uninstall software in the PC.

Here's a registry hack that will prevent a program from running on Windows:

1. Open Windows Registry Editor (WinLogo + R) and type: regedit
2. Drill down to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
3. Right-click in the right panel of the Registry Editor and create a new DWORD called: DisallowRun; Change its Value to: 00000001(1)
4. Now, in the left panel, right-click Explorer, choose New--> Key, and name the Key DisallowRun
5. In the right panel, right-click and choose New-->String Value; Name it anything you wish - something descriptive would be helpful;
6. Double-click on it and at this point you can enter any program you wish (normally with a '.exe' extension). You can find out the executable name by right-clicking the Program in the Start Menu and choosing the Properties Option.
7. Re-Boot your computer and try to run the program. You should get an error message telling you that the operation has been canceled due to restrictions in effect on this computer.


To remove the restriction, simply delete the Keys you created re-boot your computer.

Caveat: Making mistakes in the Registry can render your computer un-bootable- Make backups!!!
