Update KB3010788 and KB3013455 Fails
I ran sfc/ scannow and window resource protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Then I ran a windows repair disc
startup repair and it wasn't able to repair. Then I ran the Windows 7 Pro upgrade installation an that wouldn't work because I dont have enough space on my SSD C drive and because I have Sp1 installed. Is there another way to repair these corrupted files? I also tried windows update hotfix tools.

Error 80073712 and 800B0100

I have attached checksur.txt, sr.txt another site told me to run

"Right-click on the CBS folder on your Desktop and select Send to > Compressed (zipped) folder." gives me access denied message. Compressed CBS folder with 7zip but it is 32mb and I can't upload it

Most of the time I've seen this, it's been caused by Advanced System Care, and if that's the case here, then you should UNINSTALL it with prejudice!


...I'll post a fix for the CheckSUR problems above first.

I tried another suggested repair and am able to update successfully. Windows sample media files are missing. I'm not sure if that matters. New checksur file is attached

SFC -System File Checker - Instructions
Click on Start > All Programs > Accessories
Right-click on the Command Prompt entry
Select Run as Administrator and accept the UAC prompt - the Elevated Command Prompt window should pop up.
At the Command prompt, type
SFC /SCANNOW
and hit the Enter key
Wait for the scan to finish - make a note of any error messages - and then reboot.

Upload the CBS.log file (compressed, please!) to your reply.

What was the 'other suggested repair'? It does appear to have fixed the other problems that existed in the earlier log.

Now reboot to the Repair Environment - as soon as the machine restarts, start tapping F8 - this should bring up the Advanced Boot Menu, at the top of which should be the option 'Repair my Computer'
Pick that
You'll have to log in with your username and password.

Pick the option to use a Command Prompt
At the prompt type
DIR C:\media64
hit the enter key - if you get a 'Not Found' error try
DIR D:\media64
or
DIR E:\media64



The drive letter in use when you find the folder will need to be substituted (for<drive>) into the following command...



XCOPY <drive>:\media64 <drive>:\windows\winsxs /y /i /s /v /h



(e.g. XCOPY P:\wfire P:\windows\winsxs /y /i /s /v /h )



run the command (it should take almost no time) and when the prompt returns, type
EXIT
and hit the Enter key to exit Command Prompt - reboot to Normal Mode Windows.

Now run SFC /SCANNOW in an Elevated Command Prompt
then reboot and upload the new CBS.log file to your reply

The "other suggested repair" was a file and some command line instructions from the wisecleaner forum. I'm not using that forum any longer. This forum and present company seem more knowledgeable :)

The error list is still the same - which suggests that there was an error in one of the operations/commands.

Please open an Elevated Command Prompt and run the following commands...

DIR C:\media64
DIR C:\Windows\winsxs\me*.*

Here are some instructions to make life easier :)
1) To open an Elevated Command Prompt Window (the ECP window), click on Start, All Programs, Accessories – then right-click on Command Prompt, and select Run as Administrator. Accept the UAC prompt.
2) To run the commands easier, highlight the block of commands, and right-click on the highlight – select Copy. In the CP Window, click on the black/white icon at top left – select Paste. The commands will run but may not complete the last command, so hit the Enter Key once.
3) To copy the results... click on the Black/White icon in the top left, and select Edit... 'Select All', and hit the Enter key - then use Ctrl+V or r-click+Paste to paste it into your response.

Previously the drive letter I used was "F" and it said it copied the files. also I used a system repair disc to get into command prompt. f8 wouldn't bring up "repair my computer"

I deleted the media64 folder from C drive I thought it had been copied and wasn't needed any longer. I have since put it back. also my repair disc sees the C drive as F

The files are certain what and where they should be, now at least...
so there must have been a problem with the copy command itself.

This is the command as it should be, given your finding of the F: drive letter.

XCOPY F:\media64 F:\windows\winsxs /y /i /s /v /h


note the spacing.
