I have a two HDD PC. The main HDD has win 7, and the second HDD has Win 10 technical preview. So far the the Win 10 looks good, but still has bugs (internet is slow and buggy, for instance). My plan is to keep using Win7 until Win10 has become stable and my work software runs fer sure. However, a new icon has appeared between the action centre flag and network icons pestering me to upgrade on my primary Win7 install.

Can I just say yes for now, go ahead and download the new system and install when I'm good and ready? or will my Win7 install black screen and refuse to load after July 29?

Will I lose my free upgrade if don't go ahead and reserve my free copy now?

Thanks for any help.

You don't have to reserve your free copy now, you have 12 months from 29th July to take advantage of the free upgrade whether you reserve or not. Plenty more information can be found at Windows 10 Forums
