I recently upgraded my xp system to windows 7 but I did the installation on a new drive. I now have both drives connected and I am trying to copy files from my old drive. However, I am getting an access error "e:\ is not accessible Access is denied". I can't even see a directory list. I set the ower to me and changed all file ownership to me and it shows I have permissions. But I still can't get into the even at the command prompt. Any ideas?

Were both drives connected when you installed Win7? If so, did Win7 configure a Dual Boot menu which you access XP from? Can you see Win7 files from XP? If so, you can copy files over that way.

If not, can you boot XP now by using the one-time BIOS boot menu key given on first boot screen?

If not, install EasyBCD 2.0 to Win7 to Add XP on Add OS tab. Welcome to EasyBCD 2.0! — The NeoSmart Files

Please post back a screenshot of your full Disk Mgmt drive map and listings using Snipping Tool in Start menu.
