I upgraded my computer (ASUS Z97-C, i5-4690K, GTX 980, SSD's) and now Win 7 Pro is having issues. I performed a fresh install, naturally, but certain programs and games no longer run. I'm currently running Win10, which I hate, because it runs okay. Now, I haven't finished the upgrade because I'm waiting on some hardware to be delivered...my PSU, for instance. I'm using my old Thermaltake 600W PSU, which should produce adequate power, but barely. My evga 750W PSU arrives today along with my NIC and some SATA cables. New RAM tomorrow.
Initially I thought that maybe I was having stability issues because the PSU I'm using isn't quite strong enough, but that was before I installed Win 10 which seems to run just fine. My plan is to install my new hardware and everything then attempt to reinstall windows 7 and hope for the best.

If possible, leave Windows 10 active, and install Windows 7 as a 2nd OS. Best of both worlds, is my guess. We in sevenforums can tackle previous W7 issues if such reappear.

Corrected typo, too late, a later quote included the typo :)

I did say this in one of my last posts but considering you hate Windows 10 and all, you probably won't care, but you will lose your ability to use the Metro bootloader if you install Windows 7 after Windows 10.

I don't hate Windows 10 at all. I simply cannot use it because my laptops would strain -- not enough resources. Tell me more about Metro Bootloader, I want to learn from you.

I was saying that the Metro bootloader won't work. That's why I quoted your post. I was saying when I said that that I said that you hate Windows 10, I was talking about Extrinsic, since he may not like Windows 10 that much.

I made a bit of a mistake there.

Sorry if you are offended.

userandaname I am not offended in the least! :) On The 'Net, many "hate" Windows 10, many "love" Windows X, many like me simply do not use Windows 10 :) I like your username!

I figured out that a lot of my issues were fixed once I installed the non-critical updates....so, duh? I'm currently running Windows 10 AME (Ameliorated Edition) because Windows 10 without privacy invasion and bloat could be cool, and it does suck less. At least it's faster than the default craptastic version. I'll probably go back to Win7 Ult. but I'm not in the mood to reformat just yet.
