upload speed low

I didnt have this problem before i was wondering what are the things that can cause this.
I had comcast over my house this morning and on his laptop he was getting 2.5 upload while at mine was at .5 and he was blaming that. As the night before it was up to par, I called them because i would notice my games chopping up due to internet and letting me know that my internet connection was poor. So i was wondering what are some of the things that can cause this.

I scanned for spyway with malwarebytes nothing. I scanned my pc with nod32 found 2 or 3 things cleared them still getting the same speeds, I unplugged all ethernets and reset both modem and router.

Computer is hooked up Wired, and he also did the testing on his laptop wired.

I notice there are two drivers available for win 7x64 for your network controller. Have you tried both of them?

i think i have. You mean 2 new ones? or there are 2 different types.

There are two , one appears to be a zero hour release, the other a couple of months later. They appear to be for the same device.

I suggest you first run a line speed test and post the result. Then we go from there.

I just ran mine and that is what I get for a DSL3000

I am actually on comcast myself. So here's some better results to aim at.


I have never gotten better than a 250 kbps upload on this line though. Cable is all download, it's not really made for uploading.
So far as download though... that's actually one of the worst results I've ever gotten.

right now everything seems to be fine compared to this morning, almost seems like the comcast man did it just so he wouldnt have to do any extra work.

i was getting .5 this morning, something last week happened which changed a lot of things. I was getting 58 down and 3.5 up, but whatever that went away, my internet just sometimes is not consistent, as for instance when i said when i game.

That is intersting. I have a neighbor who had exactly the same problem with internet service on cable. The speed varied widely depending on time of day or day of the week. He finally switched to ATT - it is maybe not as fast but it is steady.

Yea im on the edge of doing that, im sick of them bsing me around, i really dont want to do it, but lately comcast has been, let me just stop right there before i get angry. I am hoping maybe someone can come here and shed some light.

My beef with comcast is limited to the tv service. I have heard a lot of nightmare stories but my internet has been very consistent for the 8 or so years I've been with them. It's their policy with tv's and those stupid set top boxes that has me ready to kill someone.

yea ive been with comcast since 01 i think well they were time warner at the time. just recently they have been giving all sorts of trouble. I mean yea i would have to call them atleast twice a year, but that is way better then calling them daily for the last couple months.



i mean look at it now



and even at this speed ill still have hiccups, its like something is disconnecting it for a millisecond. ROFL as i was typing this i lost connection to aim and ventrilo.

You know last time that happened to me. I just took my modem into the little comcast store thing. ..and told them I talked to someone on the phone that told me to trade it in for a new one. They gave me a newer, better modem, and it solved the problem.

...you may want to try the same trick before giving up on them.

Ive had about 5 modems in about 2 months. I been having trouble with my power im waiting to see if that may be the problem.

Well they actually came out here yesterday and finally replaced a node that had been going bad since the hurricane hit like 2 years ago. Which solved my final bandwidth problem.

You know it also occurs to me a close friend had a connection issue with comcast. They sent multiple crews out there. Replaced his wiring, gave him all new equipment. No difference, a month later they found out the little hub in his complex had been sitting in 3 feet of water for god only knows how long.

Are any of your neighbors experiencing similar issues?

See the problem i was experiencing around nov to about jan a friend of mine was having the same issues i was when i would get bad ping spikes, i called every single day till they kept sending their guys and other people to the nod sites and finally they got it fixed, all was gravy and now this happens. I get my power fixed tomorrow morning we will see with that. because they have done some digging in my backyard and i think nicked a ground wire, so my lights dim when washing machine and other appliances get turned on.

I am going to hit them with, you guys have one more chance to make this work for me... If not i am out of here. Hate to do it but i am sick of it.

Yea i remember when it was time warner that is when i really had 0 issues.

Time warner had a habit of cutting service late at night which annoyed me at the time because I was doing most my transfers and ftp'ing at night.
I actually think a lot of the problems comcast has, is because they never bothered to update a lot of the old time warner equipment which is now starting to develop problems.

Lets see what they do when i hit them with this threat. I am going to tell them they better run new wires everywhere like i am a brand new customer and act like there was no pre existing wires to work off of.
