Urgent IE9 Problem

Hey, bit of an ameteur here but i've encountered a problem which has pretty much disabled me from doing anything I need to on my computer because of an automatic update from windows (IE9) a few days ago.

IE9 installed, and ever since then ive been unable to visit some websites, it loads everything at snails pace (even registering to these forums has taken me 1 hour), i'm download at under 1kbps (dling at around 500bits). I've tried a few system restores with no such luck, and it seems upon one of those system restores it's actualy taken "Internet Explorer 9" out of my list of recently downloaded updates in control panel, so i'm unable to install it either, because it's not there. And even when it was in Control Panel > Uninstall a Program > View installed updates (BEFORE THE SYSTEM RESTORE), there was an error uninstalling it and the error message was along the lines of "Not all components could be uninstalled" and IE9 was still installed. I've spent a few hours googling solutions, but the only solution I came across was one for Vista users and below who have a checkable accelerated graphics box in internet options, which I do not have. What do I do? Wait for an update?

Hello hlayton and welcome to Seven Forums.

Couple of things you can try but no guarantees they'll work. You might be able to download and install IE9 again. In previous versions IE would sometimes overwrite itself to correct problems. If it works in your situation you may be able to then do a successful uninstall.

How do I install or uninstall Internet Explorer 9?

Unfortunately, you may get an error message that IE9 is already installed due to those left over components. If IE9 is still installed have you tried resetting it to default settings?
