You know what I totally forgot to check on my PC

I totally forgot to unplug the CMOS battery to see if that was it. I feel stupid now because someone recommended to do that . Anyone think it would help even the slightest bit? I've gotta tear the rig down to pack the board up so I guess I'll try that to. Resetting the CMOS battery would erase all my OCing to wouldn't it as I don't remember what I had set the values to lols, but I guess that's fixable with this forum.

God, I'm gonna hate if it was because of my 3.8ghz OC

Reset my CMOS Battery and all is well!

I reset the CMOS and all is well, but now my computer is SUPER SUPER SUPER slow and I lost my overclock. Now, could someone good with overclocking help me get my OC back . I forgot what values I had set it at and it was stable at that point to.

I want my 3.8ghz back

It was actually Win7 that screwed me over not the overclock. I reset the CMOS and it was so incredibly slow it wasn't funny . Now, anyone care to help me OC again, I want at least 3.8ghz like before

What's wrong with wanting to go higher on OCs? I'm 90% sure this wasn't my overclock that screwed me up. I guess I'll go get help else where then

You would be a fool to Overclock with out a proper after market heatsink and without thermal paste, you have some decent parts there that are worth preserving, so don't don't screw it up as for your overclock, you posted screen shots in the overclocking thread so you should be able to replicate your results.

From the screenshots you posted earlier I did notice one thing and that was your vcore voltage was still at standard and may have been the cause of your problems, if you are going to overclock that much you need to rais the voltage as well.

If you look at this screen shot of CPUZ you will see that I have my voltage set at 1.33v although in the Bios I think it's at 3.35v and I have mine overclocked to 3.8Ghz as well, so considering you are running an E8400 I would expect that you would require the same amount or more to acheive the same clock with full stability.

these were your previous screen shots to give some idea.

Talking of stability, did you actualy test to see how stable it was with that overclock with a tool such as Orthos or Prime95?

Try these out and it will show you if it's stable or not.

I tested it with Prime95 for about 6 hours when I first OC'd it. And I forgot I had posted screenshots, but I'll wait until my cooler comes before I do anything to it. You think with a very good heatsink I could push 4ghz or not without water cooling?

Also, should I OC my gfx and memory as well?

I have had mine at 4.5Ghz but was not able to get it stable, I am very happy with 3.8Ghz now and I don't think it necessary to go any higher as you you won't notice a difference anyway and your only going to shorten the life of your Hardware.
