I'm having a USB 3.0 issue on my brand new series 3 Samsung laptop, the laptop has the works: 1TB HDD, Core i7 processor, etc. When I attempt to connect my Toshiba 500GB external HDD to the laptop via usb 3.0, it will disconnect during file transfer, however when I connect it to a 2.0 port, everything works great, which doesn't make sense since usb 2.0 ports can only output 500mA and the hdd requires 900mA. I've gone as far as removing the microsoft windows 8 usb stack driver and installing intels driver manually...no dice...i've also turned off usb suspend and no dice. Can anyone help? I've seen several other forums but not ones that address a power issue.
