Does anyone know if you can buy a little USB2.0/3.0 cable extension with a switch on it, for turning the device on and off? I have bought some (very cheap) from eBay and from Amazon (UK), but the device is not recognised when I plug it in to the PC via the switched cable.
The device is a gaming control/joystick which, for reasons I won't bore you with, needs to be disconnected and reconnected every time I start the PC for it to work in the application (X-Plane, to be precise). I suppose it needs a data connection too, not just the power.
I have searched and searched.. but I am lousy at finding stuff on the net! Maybe someone here would know of such a thing? (As I say, it is easy to find USB cables with switches on them, but the ones I have tried presumably only provide power and do not work).
Thanks
