Hi,
I have a TSST Corp CD DVDW SE-208 DB which has stopped being recognised. When I run USB Device Tree viewer it shows in the tree with the following information near the bottom of the page

Power State : D0 (supported: D0, D1, D2, D3, wake from D0, wake from D1, wake from D2)
Child Device 1 : CD-ROM Drive
Device ID : USBSTOR\CDROM&VEN_TSSTCORP&PROD_CDDVDW_SE-208DB&REV_TS02\R8X76YAD702ZGJ_&0
Class : CDROM
Problem : 32 (CM_PROB_DISABLED_SERVICE)

Any idea how I can rectify this problem?

Also I have noticed that my internal DVD writer is not appearing in Explorer.

thanks,
Gerald

Hello warmbells mate is the drive being shown in the BIOS or is that where you mean it is not being recognized?? Now maybe a little over simplistic but how about reseating or renewing the SATA cables to the device . If it still is not being recognized well they are pretty cheap to replace as it is.

The other thing I would try is the deice showing in Device Manager?? if so is there a yellow triangle alongside it??

I would myself run these too

They may not show anything but it doesn't take long and what have you got to lose.

the DVD is showing in device manager, it has a yellow excclamation mark and it has in the properties 'A driver (service) for this device has been disabled. An alternate driver may be providing this functionality. (Code 32)', the USB DVD also shows with the same. I will try your suggestions later today.

Gerald

Ok Gerald well finding a driver for the optical drive might prove to be difficult because I cannot link you to it a I don't know what it is or what the board is mate and I would at least do the chipset driver for it as well as those generic scans.

I say get the driver from a manufacturer because the Windows feature is not up o much in my mind.
