Hello all. My issue is this:

I am a student and use an external hard drive and a flash drive to back up my work at school. I also work on it here at home. Recently, since I updated to Windows 7, when I'm trying to transfer files from my external/flash drive to my desktop or visa versa, the file transfer stops part of the way through, says that the folder containing the files is no longer in that same location, the transfer doesn't happen, I can no longer gain access to my drives data, and I'm forced to restart my computer. Also, my keyboard doesn't work when this happens, yet my mouse does (they're both plugged into USB ports. So I'm not really sure what the issue is here. It may be my USB drivers need updated, it could be issues with my hard/flash drives (though i doubt that since I never have problems with them at school).

So if anyone could help me out with this issue or give their opinion, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all. :)

It could be requiring more power than can be supplied.

I'd try updating the motherboard/chipset drivers and see how it goes, anyhow.
