Usenet/Newsgroup Access ?

Hello,

Presently, I use Comcast for my Internet.
And Motzarella for my Newgroup/Usenet Access.
This is done via Thunderbird.

Guess I've never thought about this much, and am frankly not all that sharp with this PC stuff, and am now very confused over the Newsgroup/Usenet portion.

My son is even less "technical" than I am, but would like to help him out with this.

My son has Verizon for Internet.
He uses gMail for emails
Apparently, Verizon has eliminated Newsgroups.

What are his options now for (free) Usenet access ?

Can he use Motzarella with his present Verizon Internet Access ? How ?
Can Thunderbird access Motzarella directly (through Verizon) ?
Or,...?

If anyone can explain his/our best bets for getting him Usenet access, would be most appreciative. (and configuring basics for).

Hi Bob and welcome

There are many free news servers. The free servers are usually cobbled in some way. either by a capped doqnload speed, or only partials group coverage. You son can use motzaella, using verizon to get to one of the free servers
