Solved User profile - Owner and Rights

I'm having problems with my main user profile, so I figured that I could copy the user profile to another user. So I used robocopy with these params

robocopy c:\users\ame g:\users\ame /COPYALL /E /XJ /R:2 /W:5 /MT:4

Now I have a copy of my user profile!

But I'm wondering about the owner and the rights?

Who should be the Owner?
Who should have Rights and what should they be?

FWIW; On my system, which has not been modified from the defaults at install time, shows the owner of c:\users\tanya as SYSTEM, and the perms with SYSTEM, and Administrators, and Tanya all with full control, and no other rights.

Thanks for the info!

When I look in my user profile I have the same as you
Owner is SYSTEM
and full rights is given to Administrators, SYSTEM and my user.

The problem seems to be that in files and sub-directories the rights and the owner changes. Very often the owner is either Administrators or my user but sometimes there is a unknown owner. Explorer - Properties - Security says: Unable to display current owner

If someone has any idea why this is happening and how to fix it, I would really appreciate a suggestion!

No, but I'm thinking about it.

It looks like this Windows installment is on its last leg...

What do I need to think about when copying user profile?

"<User> Profile" Properties

If that doesn't work and you wish to do a re-install, you could use the "Windows Easy Transfer" tool.

Start Menu > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Windows Easy Transfer

OR

Open the "Start Menu" and type "easy" in the "Search" box.

Note:
I've never used the "Windows Easy Transfer" tool, so I can't advise you on its use.
