lap top has a fault come on it overnight, when trying to sign in with password the following message appears on screen ;
User Service Profile Service failed
User Profile cannot be loaded.
What has happened , have I put the wrong password in, can I fix it or will I have to take it to a shop to get it mended.
any advice would be welcome for this silver headed surfer.

Thank you for such a quick reply to my problem , but as I said I am a silver headed surfer (80) and I think your tutorial is way beyond me . How does the profile change over night, when it was switched off?

This is usually caused by something corrupting the user profile for your account.

If you like, you might see if doing a system restore using a restore point dated before this happened may be able to sort it for you instead.
