I setup the XP Mode just fine without any problems. I am a little confused about how some things work though. If I am on the road I simply use my embedded broadband card. How does that work in XP? Do I have to install the Verizon program just like I did for 7? Or another way of asking is, do I have to install the same programs like I did for 7 in order to get them to work in XP Mode?

You only need to make network to work on your Windows 7 host. You don't need to install any programs inside the vm. Once your host has network, your vm should be able to browse Internet. If you can have more then one physical IP address, you can configure the network to use bridged network, otherwise, you use NAT to share your host IP address.
