Utorrent, and hair pulling

Hi all, well it seems i have come across my first problem with 7 im not complaining though if this is the worst i get then im lucky. lol

Basically everytime i start utorrent my wireless drops. Not only does the signal go but 7 then says i have no wireless adapter lol.
All works well again on restart. Now the odd time i have got utorrent to start it works fine. If i exit the program however the wireless vanishes. So i dont close it i just stop all downloads and minimize the window. But i would like to know why my wireless keeps knocking out when im using it
Hope someone has had the same issue lol and can point me towards the light.

Have you run it in compat mode and all that? Why don't you try Bittorrent or another one and see if you have problems with it.

yes mate ive tried it with compat mode on. Ive only ever used utorrent and was happy with that. Can you reccomend a good alternative?

I have no problems with µtorrent, but I'm not using wireless. have you forwarded your port or are you do you have UPnp port mapping enabled?

Just installed uTorrent on my PC with a wireless connection and it seems to be fine.

I didn't run it in compatibility mode, but as others suggested have you tried that? Is the port also open as maybe if it's closed, it's just causing a problem with the wireless connection on your comp?

A very interesting issue... I've not encountered any issue with uTorrent myself with Windows 7 x64.

My first guess would be a program conflict of some sorts somewhere that's causing the anomailies you're getting. I'd look with download acelerators and any other programs that connect to the net.

A bit late to the party perhaps but have you tried disabling uPNP support in uT? That's the only thing that uT does that should directly affect your wireless router...

1) In uTorrent in the main window press F5 to view details
2) click the tab shown
3) right click the list and make the selections shown
4) right click again and select log to file
5) wait for the issue to occur and post the log file.

This is also happening to me, I have fios 10/2 and i will drop to speeds of 700kb/1.5k. I have to end some of the svchost proccesses in the task manager in order to fix it, and even then it takes a few minutes for windows explorer to refresh, re-enable and be good again.

This also occured when I used remote desktop..

any help would be good.

Ok i did the systme monitoring thing and it looks as if utorrent isnt shutting down, even after I kill it in the system processes menu in the task manager. Also regular exiting doesnt work....

It's dead if task manager shows it as dead. Do you see your router in the network folder?

I'm using uTorrent actually new version came out yesterday...1.8.2 no problems
Usual culprit is incorrect port forwarding #1(regardless if on wired/wireless, #2 is a lousy ISP provider...lol

I found that I had to manually set the ports in the client and then obviously set the same ports in my router.

uTorrent seems incapable of doing this itself on my router.

no problems here with wifi and utorrent... id make sure your drivers are up to date, and redownload utorrent and re install. could run dd wrt on your router also it usually handles p2p better then stock firmwares.
