Hey guys,

I was wondering how I could make it so a video is my screensaver, how from a folder video files are cycled and displayed as my screensaver. Is this possible? Thanks!

Just for the fun of it - you can also have a video as screensaver. Go to Windows Live Photo Gallery > File > Screensaver settings and make the settings as in the picture. The video must be in .wmv format and be in a folder.

wmv file running as screensaver freezes

It was great finding this thread on how to make a .wmv movie file play as a screensaver. It was working fine until about 2/3 of the way through when it locked up with the frame frozen on the screen. After waiting awhile longer, the screen went black except for a "filmstrip" icon in the center of the screen. Has anyone seen this problem, and know how to fix it? Thanks..

I have an idea as to why this may be happening.. Are you using a very long vodeo file ? I.e over 15 - 20 seconds or is it in a hd format??

Hi and thanks for replying so quickly. Yes this is a long video file several minutes long, and I also think it may be in hd format. I have several video format conversion tools so maybe I should try something? I can attach or send you the video file if that would help.
