Video's crashing the display driver (ATI HD5870)

Understood i am still going to follow through but i am already looking cause i get that feeling this isnt the end of it

well looks like i have to talk to the manufacturer tomorrow to set up the RMA process thanks alot for the info TVEBLEN

I was almost tempted to buy the same card and swap it back at the store and get my money back but this is much better but just a hassle having to wait

Anyway let you guys know how it goes once i get these guys working on this card of mine +1

the ATI driver crashed on my desktop PC as well. I had to install it as a "generic graphics adapter". when i use the drivers off of Asus's website i get the errors you describe. every time windows detects new hardware and installs the actual ATI driver's my system blue screens and i get a certain drive has failed message. i disable auto installation of devices with a certain description and now my problem is gone. as it is, now the card works great and everything is fine, but my user experience is 1.0 for some reason. i dont see how it's rated lower than the OEM graphics card from 2007, when clearly it functions better and faster

Mine goes deeper then this, I already contacted diamond ,They agreed to start the RMA we'll see how that goes

You can use a Generic driver but the funtion is limited that is why you got a 1.0 instead of a 7.8 etc

My card was actually playing games with no artifacting it is just the driver message started freezing and started stopping the windows log on screen it would boot all the way then BSOD

What i did for now took out my HD 5770 out of another rig that has a onboard hd4200 and slipped that card in problem solved now it is up to Diamond to make good on thiere side and hook me up with a brand new card


Also i would have to say this is the very first time ,I have seen so many people with the same issue makes you wonder how well these manufaturers are making the product this whole week i have seen more issues with the same card from people i can count on both hands and that's saying a mouth full :sarc:
