The windows 7 beta excludes the Vista included game Inkball. Do the x86 and x64 vista versions of the game work on Windows 7 for everyone? I read a blog entry that seemed to indicate that it didn't for that person. Thanks in advance.

Hi digital,

I used to (and still do) like this game in Vista, so I thought I would try to get it to work on W7. However, I have had no luck, and I don't think that it is possible as I tried everything that I could think of. It is possible that it might be in the RC version of W7 or even the final retail version, but we will have to wait and see. After all, the Internet games, including Backgammon, have made a comeback in W7 after being absent in Vista.

In the meantime, I will have another look at this to see if there is a way, and, if there is, I shall post back here.

I have just tried this, and it works perfectly. You will need to extract the files from the zip and you can place the files in any folder and run the game from there. I have scanned both the zipped file and the extracted files, and can confirm that there is no malware present. Checking the versions of the game, it seems to be an earlier version prior to the one included in Vista, but, nevertheless, it works with W7.

Here is a direct link to the file:
