Hi all,

I'm configuring a custom power plan on a notebook.
For this power plan i would like to modify the behaviour of the lit.
For some reason its impossible to change this behaviour (Windows will not let me).

After i click the Administrator option to "Modify settings that are currently unavailable.", i get a message stating: "Information about your powerplan is unavailable. Acces denied."

Screenie:

Any ideas please?

I've seen this when OEM software is controlling the power options - until that OEM tool is uninstalled or set to allow the OS to control things - you will get this error. Or you can use the OEM tool to set the desired options.

Hmmm....the problem does regard a Samsung notebook and i have read some articles/threads where a utility could be controlling this specific part of the power options.
Is there any way to force control? I ask this because i have all bloatware uninstalled and there are no Samsung or other applications/services loading anymore with the notebook...yet i still can not seem to change anything?

Thanks for the tip. I will be sure to give the machine an SFC run.
Regarding my powerplan issues; i had rebooted and checked for remaining bloatware (or services) several times...and there were none left.
Upon checking the powerplan options again today, the options could suddenly be changed!
The only difference i could notice, is that the machine had been in slumbermode rather then hybrid sleep mode.
