Hi,
I have Dell Vostro 1220 and the existing hard drive has started to fail. I had W10 enterprise running as a clean install for over six months.
I got a new SSD drive and decided to use the Dell W7 (64 bit) re-install DVD to put back a clean install of W7. After the install tried to run Update Windows from the control panel but it reported could not upgrade after trying for twenty minutes. Somewhere on the forum it suggested installing SP1 and all will be well. Done another clean install without the internet connection and when finished I installed SP1.

Connected to the internet but still can't get any updates. Followed various threads suggesting running scripts which all ran and did not report any problems. Still no updates.

It was suggested there might be a virus, but it was a new drive and the SP1 file has been run before without problems.

Cannot seem to move any further.
