Solved Whare to get Orange Cold Cathods

im looking for an orange cold cathode, it doesnt have to "Say" orange persay, but if it looks orange, like logiteck g15v2 orange or orange LED color than im good. i like dark orang, almost red but not close enough for anyone to actualy first think red. ive looked on Crazy pc and other places. the problem is im running out of PCI bays in the back and would like to avoid them at all cost. if anyone knows where i can get orange cold cathodes that dont have the pannels, or if they know of an INEXPENSIVE device that will allow me to connect multiple cathodes into one of the PCI panels that LOOK build into the cathodes. if you dont understand what i meen, you can go to crazypc.com and look at cold cathodes and youle notice. please and thank you if youve tryed this and can help

I've never seen orange, so maybe there isn't a gas that would make orange light. Maybe an led strip?

My cathode controller is cable tied to the back side of the 3.5" bays and the non windowed side of the case fits over the top of them perfectly so you can't see it. You can run 2 per box.
Never seen a pci based one.

i was reading forum posts on some modding forums, and people said, often red looks alot like orange or pink, if it looks more orange in the picture it will most likley be redish orange.

This is going inside a black case so my THEORY is that it would dampen the light and look even more orange.

what my biggest hope is that someone has orderd some red ones that where more dark orange than red, or if someone actualy found orange cathodes.

im doing an organ setup, thats why i would perfer cathodes, they are easyer to manage with sound activation.

anyways, if anyone has some experience buying cathodes and has found a company where there red could easily pass for orange, feel free to speak up

just saw the part about pci, there not, they just use the pannel, but they are 4pin molex, im alright with the 4 pin molex, but i am seriously running out of pci bays in the back of my computer, and im planning on installing 2 MORE graphics card which will take up 4 more pci pannels, leaving me with only 1 pannel left for things like LEDs, the more i can pack in 1 the better

I don't mean to sound stupid, but what is the point in sound activated cathodes?

Surley the noise of the psu ect will keep them constantly on, and failing that you'd have it flashing like a night club when your playing games. Unless they get brighter the louder the noise?

My cathodes just run when my pc is turned on.

you lower the sensitivity so the pc components dont effect it... the point of why i want them behind my monitors is because i like the idea of playing in MOH or BF3 and a cruise missile drops, u see the flashing behind the monitors. or when you shoot a carbine and your desk lights up like muzzle flash, when your looking at the screen, the ambiance is more reel. and its just flat out cool

thats what i have, i love them, but they are no where NEAR as bright as they look in the picture, i just would perfer the cathodes in addition to the nzxt LEDs, plus i trust that cold cathodes will work with the sound activation modulator seeing as how most of them come with one.

ok, if it says RED, but looks ORANGE or BROWN, or YELLOW, it is EXACTLY THE COLOR IT LOOKS IN THE PICTURE, i ordered a red 15in from crazy pc, in need of orange, IT IS BRIGHT ORANGE, like NZXT orange led strip orange, mabe even dead on. point being, i found it, and if anyone else is working on a black and orange case and wants orange Sound activated, u can getem from crazy pc, but i found somthing after it arived, crazy has a no return policy, which is great because they super padd everything, but the same product is sold from New Egg, id rather have the feeling of safty knowing if it doesnt work for manufacturers reasons, i can send it back and get a replacment no charge
