What browser to use!!!!

Avast web rep, free download manager, googletoolbar, and java console, have ditched googletoolbar, and a couple of other add ons that i rarely used, but compatabilty reported and fixed the others, and firefox is running well now so all good.

Google Toolbar for FF5 and all later has been discontinued. You don't need the Java Console unless you are a developer, all java sites like youtube will still work ok with it disabled. Avast Webrep is an interesting issue, they dance all around it on the Avast forums, but Nightly Tester Tools, or Compatibility Reporter will force it to work, and it does work fine. Free Download Manager was also broken by FF4, and FF5 apparently, the suggestion is to use Flashgot. As far as I know, these will all work when compatibility is forced. This is a bad move by FF, and I believe it will hurt them if they continue down this path. I am happy with Opera :)

I've always been an Fx fan, myself (I've tried 'em all), but, as was mentioned previously, use whatever works best for you. :)

The browser wars won't end anytime soon, hopefully, for the good of us all.

One site I visit uses links to other sites like photobucket to display imiages. Since updating to IE9 I was not able to view the pictures. I had been avoiding Chrome but tried it and lo and behold I can now see photos on my most favorite site.

You really don't need any of those add ons. Google toolbar especially. I have been using FF for quite a few years and use it as my default browser. I have never had any problems with it, and use about 8 or 9 extensions. I like the large selection of themes so it's never boring like IE. Chrome has a selection of themes, but they aren't as nice. I installed Chrome when it first came out, and keep it to watch as it develops. It gets better and better, and is fast as advertized. I tried Opera twice, but don't like it.

I use Chrome as my main browser because it is fast, secure and doesn't have toolbars, FireFox for any heavy downloads because I prefer its download manager and IE9 for any site that won't work with either Chrome or FF (very few).

I mainly use IE9 with no problems, I've tried a few others like Firefox, Chrome etc: but always go back to IE9. At the moment I'm here using Maxthon 3 browser, I used it years ago when I had XP but thought I'd have another look at it.
It's a nice browser with some good features, I'll see how long it lasts before I go back to IE.;)

I use IE9 and Opera. I am always aiming for streamlined performance and integration. I am not into apps or add-ons. I have used all browsers, but always come back to those two that I have mentioned. I have had no problems at all with IE9, I simply love the layout, organization, and lack of screen space it takes up. Plus, it's new Active X blocker and Tracking Protection Lists give me peace in mind. Browsers have really become so fast and advanced, that only a second separates them all in terms of speed. If I don't feel like using IE, I use Opera. It is probably the most underrated browser out there. I personally think it's the best, but there are still a few site incompatibilities with it. Today, it is all down to preference! My test is to use it for a while, and see how fast it responds to your habits (finding your favorite website, how fast you can e-mail when you click on a person's link, favoriting/bookmarking a new site, how it handles downloads, etc.)

I have been using Chrome a lot lately but quite frequently bounce between Firefox and Chrome so you never know. May start using IE9 since it's what I use at work and it has grown a lot on me. Basically use what works for you and your needs. :)

Yup! What is this ... about the millionth thread regarding "what's the best browser?"

LOL! As I mentioned ... whatever works for You. :)

I could argue it till I'm blue in the face with some people here as I find Fx to be the best for me (Nightles with Win x64 and Win32 ... and UX, to boot, oh my! - I run 'em all.)

I'd let 'em use whatever browser they want and, I hope, they let me use whatever browser I want.

Still, most important of all, whatever browser you choose, we'll all be here to help as best as we can. :D

i have personally only ever use Firefox and chrome ,I am currently using chrome. I feel that the start-up speed of chrome outweighs the massive plugin base Firefox has. chrome has also came out top in various speed tests.
Get chrome 90% better than others.

It looks pretty.
Firefox is the only browser I go with, haven't found one yet that can beat it (And I've tried many), though if you want really super fast browsing I suggest getting a text based browser like Lynx. Internet explorer 7 - 9 only ever slows me down and I can't stand the major drop in speed compared to Firefox. Plus Firefox works great for compatibility on older versions of Windows. (Like 98)
