Solved What do you guys think of this Bulldozer MB ?

If you have a retail copy, you can install it on the new computer but will have to uninstall it from the other one. Retail OS can be installed to a different computer, but only 1 computer at a time. If you have an OEM version, you will have to buy a new copy. OEM versions are tied to the computer they are installed on and with rare exceptions cannot be installed and validated on another computer.

Ok well the ram part of it was to fill in the empty slots

The OS i have no problem buying it but at the same time im pretty sure were going to keep the one we are on right now and shift it upstairs

I probally will have to buy a new windows just on the strength cause i want to use HDMI etc on the other Tv and win 7 is the best for the HDMi connections and multi adapter type devices

for the SSD thought i might get a 80 or 100 gb i mean really i just looked at my disc usage on win7 and it is nothing cause everything else is shifted to my book

I don't know what you run on your computer, but usually a 60GB is enough, especially if yo move all user files to another hard drive. I have an 80GB Intel right now and am using about 20GB just for OS and programs. Everything else is on another drive. But, I would get a good quality one.

I play nothing but video games /Video editing some not alot burning movies

I do more streaming then anything basicly this is for bragging rights lol good wei etc...

with all i got installed now currently is all i need i am useing 104 gb

like you said if i just install the OS and the Virus protect and shift the other stuff to the 500gb i should be good as gold then

I am looking at the final pricing for the OS and the SSD pluse the dvd /rw I give my self allowence of 350.00

That should defently get me going

Install the OS and programs on the SSD, User files, videos, games and others can be on another disk. The os takes about 16GB, so look at that and your programs. Your games, videos,pictures and documents will no be on the SSD.

yeah i think most of my games installed and steam etc is taking up most of the space the OS is about 20 gb in itself correct

So i can just shift the stuff to 500gb barracuda

I don't know what i would do with out you guys man got me so excited !

plus today is my last work day so i got all night and tomorrow to play

I would not be too hot about that Kingston SSD. You may be better served with an Intel or OCZ. At Newegg they very often have SSD sales - subscribe to their feed. I paid $145 for a 90GB Vertex2 at Christmas.

Capacity wise even a 60GB would be good enough for a desktop. The OS itself rarely exeeds 20GBs - even with a healthy amount of programs installed (no games though). You delete the hiberfile and move the user data to the HDD. My 90GB mentioned above was for a laptop where I also needed room for user data. But on this desktop I have had a 60GB OCZ for a long time and still have over 32GBs of free space despite a couple of vBox virtual machines running.

I believe you will find the retail (full) version more expensive than that. Make sure you are getting the retail version if that is what you want.

I also agree with WHS, especially about the kingston. I woul stay with intel/OCZ/Crucial.

The reason why i am doing the purchases from this place because i like to go and see my product in person
I don't like my things shipped because i used to work in a shipping enviorment and i know for a fact they are cruel to your product

Anyway that intel one is ok but not to sound like a jerk but i dont want intels stuff in my machine i used to run a p4 for years and alot of the time the design was a headache heating issues list goes on but it was a ok machine i guess got me this far

The one you picked is an upgrade version. It usually requires a legal copies of XP or Vista. The 199.00 version is probably the full retail version.

The copy of windows i showed you i didnt need my vista package it just installed clean

they recently came out with the full version cause at the time of purchase it was only the upgrades available as far as i knew cause i would have gotten the full right of the jump

I have only but once up grade over vista but after that i wiped it clean many times and re installed

There is no difference. If you qualify for an upgrade (which is not being checked but done on the honor approach), you can use it.
